[BOOK REVIEW] Prodigy (Legend #2) by Marie Lu

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18492470-prodigy
SYNOPSIS:

June and Day arrive in Vegas just as the unthinkable happens: the Elector Primo dies, and his son Anden takes his place. With the Republic edging closer to chaos, the two join a group of Patriot rebels eager to help Day rescue his brother and offer passage to the Colonies. They have only one request—June and Day must assassinate the new Elector. It’s their chance to change the nation, to give voice to a people silenced for too long.

But as June realizes this Elector is nothing like his father, she’s haunted by the choice ahead. What if Anden is a new beginning? What if revolution must be more than loss and vengeance, anger and blood—what if the Patriots are wrong?

In this highly-anticipated sequel to the New York Times bestseller Legend, Lu delivers a breathtaking thriller with high stakes and cinematic action.

MY REVIEW

It started a little slow for me at first but when when I reached the half...not anymore!

It started when June and Day arrives in Vegas after they escaped at the Republic. They joins a group of Patriot rebels to help Day rescue his brother, but there's one condition Razor (the leader of the patriots) requested. To kill the new elector. Of course, they accepted the condition so that the patriots will help Day rescue his brother Eden. June and Day are kinda shocked because they will kill Anden (the new elector of the republic; son of the previous elector) soon and at first they thought that it was not easy.

As the story continues, the patriots planned on how to get the assassination done. June will act that she knows all of the patriots plans and she will let Anden know for her to be trusted. And it worked.

I really liked the part when June and Anden met and they talked about many things and Anden being nice. Then suddenly, June realizes that Anden is nothing like his father. I am so happy about that because finally, the republic will change into something better.
My favorite part from this book would probably be June on a lie detector test. Isn't it cool because she lied about other things and one of that is being loyal to the republic. She said she is still loyal and the lie detector said it's the  truth. But is June really lying about what she said? or not?

The last part is so bittersweet. I just can't accept that Day founds out that he got a problem. He is dying. And June needs to leave him because she promoted at a higher rank. Ahhhh the feels.......

I really loved this book! Full of action-packed scenes. June stands out in this book because of her strength and I liked it! It was fast-paced and a great read. Marie Lu did it again :) Her writing style is perfect but I do get bored at times when the part of too much describing at things but still the book turned out great!
