[BOOK REVIEW] Obsidian (Lux #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12578077-obsidian

SYNOPSIS:

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something... unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don't kill him first, that is.

My Review:

So basically, Katy and Daemon is the main characters in this book. I really love their attitudes in the book. Katy's having a blog is really relatable because I have a blog too, you will know if you're reading this 'cause this is my blog (huh lol), while Daemon's being not-kind to Katy but eventually shows his good side at the middle part of the book is just so mainstream but it helps though with the story line as him being an Alien.

Obsidian keeps you turn pages because it's so mysterious that you have to know what next and you cannot put it down. The books gets so much better at the point that Katy's discovered that Daemon is not a human but an alien. Jennifer Armentrout's writing style is so great that it makes this book so easy to read even though it's Fantasy/ Paranormal.

My favorite scene in the book would be the part when Katy's running away to the road from Daemon at night and she would have been killed by a truck but Daemon is there to save by using his powers, alien powers, to stop the truck from hitting Katy. I have another favorite scene too which is Katy and Daemon are helping each other to fight the other aliens that are not nice and the only thing they had to defeat the bad aliens is what they called "Obsidian" - a stone/crystal; a crystal used to fight the bad aliens based on this book.

Overall thoughts: This book is so fast-paced, so entertaining and fun. I recommend Obsidian to all the YA readers out there! :)

SMALL BOOK HAUL [ JANUARY ]

I will be presenting my very small (as always) book haul, in which I bought 2 books: 1 hardcover and 1 paperback.

Photo from my instagram @bookishfanboy

And that is Endgame: The Calling by James Frey and Nils Johnson-Shelton and The Unbecoming Of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin.

The main reason that I bought this two books is that the covers are fantastic! Am I right?! The typography of The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer is just perfect and the cover is just cool, while the Endgame's cover is just so cool, amazing, shiny, and golddddd...Perfection.
I heard so many great things about this two, and I think everyone is ranting over this books especially on Michelle Hodkin's Mara Dyer books and Endgames' so much intriguing story line and some says there's a puzzle you have to solve while reading the book! Sounds so interesting :)

I am so excited to read Endgame and The Unbecoming Of Mara Dyer! I hope I will love them as much others do.

I read the hunger games books on ebook platform, and I don't have the physical copy until now ( I don't know why XD ). I can say that I become a bookworm/book reader when I bought my first ever book, it was The Maze Runner by James Dashner and then now, I have 20 physical copy of books (not that bad right?).
