My Review

My favorite book from the mortal instruments so far!

City of Glass is an action-packed and a breathtaking read. There's so much action going on that I really enjoyed compared to the first two books.  All of my questions and the mysteries has been answered in this book which is great and it made me contented.

The other thing that I liked from this book is that there are emotional parts. Cassandra Clare did not focus only on the action-scenes and stuff but also she mixed it with other elements that made the book perfect. By reading this book we know that there are so many things that has been revealed such as [1]  Jace and Clary are not brother and sister after all which made me happy [2] Jace's real father was Stephen Herondale and [3] Sebastian is the real Jonathan Christopher Morgenstern. I'm now even more excited to read the other books from TMI and also The Infernal Devices.

The ending was satisfying! They defeat Valentine and the shadowhunters and the downworlders help each other to fight and it is by the help of Clary's power, she created a new rune for a shadowhunter to have a downworlder power and vice-versa. How cool is that?!

Since I'm reading the shadowhunter chronicles by publication date, I'm now looking forward to reading the first book from The Infernal Devices trilogy (A prequel to The Mortal Instruments) which is entitled Clockwork Angel.

My Review

This book is much better than City of Bones and the pacing was good. I managed to finished this book in only two days because it is so entertaining.


I really like the characters even more in City of Ashes. Not only they've improved but also they are more funnier that makes everything lighter. Knowing that Clary and Jace are "siblings" makes me want to read more because I know it's just a lie but still, there's no revelation from this book that they are not really brother and sister. *sighs* It did not affect my rating though.


At first I thought that there's no actions/bad-ass moments going on but I'm wrong. After the middle part, I can say that it is more action-packed than the first book. The scene were they fight Valentine and the demons on the ship are the best! It is so epic and it made me hold my breath. On the same scene, the inquisitor/Imogen Herondale have something important to say to Jace but then she dies afterwards. I mean what??!! What is it about? It keeps me intrigued.


I love how every characters have pov's from themselves and not in a confusing way. It's really a great idea that Cassandra Clare made because I myself wants to know more about most of them and what they are doing. Overall, this is a great sequel to City of Bones and much better! I'm so excited to read the third book because I heard from many people that City of Glass is greatest book from the mortal instruments series.

My Review

This is the first fantasy book that I have ever read I believe and it did not disappoint me to introduce to the fantasy world. Cassandra Clare's writing style was just fantastic that there is no boring parts that I encounter. It was fast-paced and I got hooked with the story just from the very beginning. The world was cool and enchanting because there are werewolves, vampires, fairies, warlocks in just one story. (AND SHADOWHUNTERS!!!)

I enjoyed this book very much. All of the chapters was exciting and interesting, a page-turner indeed and I couldn't put it down. Cassandra did not forget to add some humor in it which I liked because it makes everything lighter and not boring.

City of Bones is now one of my favorite books of all time!!! I'm looking forward to reading the other books in The Mortal Instruments series because I heard that it's keeps getting better and better. I am even more excited because ABC Family picks up the Mortal Instruments tv series. I'm so stoked!

Overall, this book was great and cool. I have nothing more to say because it is just that good. For those who haven't started the TMI series yet, please read them now!

My Review

Looking for Alaska is a fun and incredible story. 

“The only way out of the labyrinth of suffering is to forgive.”

I never thought at first that this book was funny. When I'm on the first part, almost all of the pages will make you smile and laugh because the characters - Miles, The Colonel, Takumi, Lara, and Alaska are very funny and it makes me want to join in their group.The second part, however, contains drama and it is the part where you get emotional and stuff. 

Miles Halter is a relatable main character for me. He's quiet, he loves reading, and hates sports. That's why I enjoy the story even more! Let's move on with Alaska Young. I feel sad for her because she's been hard on herself and Alaska's decisions were based on her roller-coaster emotions.

The story was just brilliant and inspiring because it is written by my favorite author, John Green. He is such a great writer and his works can make you laugh and be inspired at the same time. This is my 3rd John Green book that I have ever read and I'm so excited to read his other books. He never fail to impress me.

What I learned in this book is that life is not easy that's why we should not give up. Even though we have problems, if we are smart enough to overcome it, everything will be alright.

This is a perfect book for teens and for everyone who loves a funny and yet an emotional story. If you still haven't read Looking for Alaska, please read it now.

My Review

“Even in the Future the Story Begins with Once Upon a Time.”

I had mixed feelings about this book. At first, I'm enjoying it because the world was cool and Cinder being a cyborg really intrigued me. It was okay and I thought that the characters from this book are funny. But when I reached the middle part, I already knew that Cinder and (spoiler) are the same person.

Marissa Meyer's writing was good and the sci-fi elements from this book was awesome but Cinder's real identity part should be less obvious because my excitement goes down as I got so much hints when I'm halfway through. 

I will not compare Cinder and the original Cinderella because I don't have much knowledge about the real Cinderella story lol.

Even though I don't like this book, I still have my favorite scene. It is when Cinder goes to the ball and the guard scan her I.D., then the guard announced to everyone that she arrived and she was a personal guest.

Based on what I heard from the other readers, the books from The Lunar Chronicles get so much better after Cinder so I am looking forward to read Scarlet and Cress.
